All examinations of Bayero University Kano, have been shifted to Tuesday May 2, 2023, the University authority has announced.
In a statement signed by Aminu Umar Abdullahi for the Registrar, all Provosts, Deans, HODs and Directors were notified that that the examinations which was scheduled to commence from Saturday April 15, 2023 has been postponed to Tuesday May 2, 2023 .
According to the statement, the examinations’ date was shifted because of restrictions placed on movement by Kano State Government due to the supplementary elections to be held in the state.
However, the supplementary elections were held on Saturday April 15 across the 16 local government areas.
As envisaged by the institution, heavy security presence and restriction of movement could have affected the examinations adversely if conducted as the elections recorded sparse vehicular movement.
It was also gathered that violence rocked the conduct of elections in some polling areas as political thugs snatched and destroyed ballot boxes.
The supplementary elections for the Federal House of Representatives were held in 14 state House of Assembly Constituencies.
