The Covenant University Ota, Ogun state has graduated 1,379 students in various degrees, with 238 of them earning First Class Honours in the 2022/2023 academic session.
This was disclosed by the institution during its 18th Convocation Ceremony, Conferment of Degrees, and Presentation of Prizes held at the University.
During the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo said the institution was celebrating the products of its life-applicable learning factory with the conferment of 1,175 Bachelors’ and 204 higher degrees in various disciplines.
Professor Adebayo disclosed that 283 (24.09%) of the graduands made First Class, while 656 (55.83) were in the Second Class (Upper Division).
He added that, 214 (18.21%) of the graduands made Second Class (Lower Division), as 22 (1.87%) were in the Third Class category.
He stated that 57 persons were awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree, 107 persons got M.Sc degree, 27 clinched M.Eng degree, 2 persons obtained MA degree, while 11 of the graduands earned professional MBA degree.
