An educationist, Mr Olatundun Sholeye has decried the robbery and rape incidents at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
He described the incident as frightening and horrible that such incident was allowed to happen to students who are in school to study.
He advised the university authority to take proactive measures to prevent such occurrence in the school.
He called on the police authority in Ogun State to make sure that the culprits are apprehended and face the wrath of the law.
“I want the police to swing into action and arrest those culprits who committed such atrocities against the hapless students. The burglars must never go unpunished,” he said.
Sholeye also called on the state government and the federal government to beef up security in the school for the benefit of the students who are there to study.
“Ogun State government and federal government have to provide adequate security for the university community, not only Tai Solarin University of Education, but higher institutions spread across the length and breadth of the country.” Sholeye said.
Recently, four students of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State were allegedly raped by suspected burglars at a hostel in the Abapawa area of the town.
The burglars broke into the hostel on Tuesday, stole valuables and raped four students.
BlackCampus Magazine gathered that the incident led to an uproar among the students which eventually caught the attention of the state government.
The incident has made the university authority to suspend the ongoing second semester examinations until further notice.
