With immense excitement and a sense of anticipation, the newly admitted freshmen of Covenant University embarked on their educational voyage as the 2023/2024 academic session commenced.
This promising cohort of students entered the university grounds, ready to initiate their academic pursuits in Nigeria’s prestigious institution of higher learning.
The university’s resumption committee, composed of dedicated faculty and staff from various departments and directorates, stood ready to welcome and assist the new students in navigating the registration process as they prepared for a week of orientation activities.
As of Sunday, October 1, 2023, more than 1,600 freshmen had successfully completed their registration and settled into their respective residence halls, while returning students began returning in large numbers on Monday, October 2, 2023.
For many of the students, the prospect of being part of Covenant University’s distinguished community was a source of immense pride and hope. They eagerly looked forward to seizing every opportunity that their student life would offer throughout their academic programs.
In an official communication to the University Community, the Registrar, Mrs. Regina Tobi-David, announced that lectures would commence promptly on Tuesday, October 3, for all returning students, while orientation and induction programs would be organized for the newcomers, introducing them to the university’s academic environment.
Parents and guardians who accompanied their children to the university expressed their appreciation to the university’s management for implementing more convenient and organized resumption protocols this time around. The collaborative efforts of various teams involved had made the entire process friendly, seamless, and stress-free.
The university’s resumption committee comprised dedicated members from the Students Support Programme (SSP), the Students’ Affairs Unit, personnel from the Medical Centre, and the Centre for Systems and Information Services (CSIS).
