The result of 64,624 candidates has been withheld as the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination’s (UTME) result on Monday, April 29, 2024.
Speaking at the press conference held at its headquarters in Abuja on Monday, April 29, the Board explained that it chose to delay the release of the result for some days because it wanted to scrutinize it to ensure credibility and integrity.
The Board further added that the results were delayed to ensure that there were no questions of any form of unclarity concerning it, particularly regarding the issue of impersonation, mixed biometrics, and other forms of malpractice.
The examination, which began April 19 and ended on April 29, 2024, had the total number of candidates as 1,940,000.
The breakdown of the results shows that 1, 842, 464 million results have so far been released out of which seventy-seven percent scored less than 200.
According to the Board, 8,401 candidates scored 300 and above; 77,070 scored 250 and above while 1,402, 490 scored below 200.
The exams were held in 118 towns and 774 centres. Meanwhile, the Board intends to announce the cut-off point for the 2024/2025 academic session admission policy when it holds its policy meeting at a later date.
