The National Open University of Nigeria, Akure Study Centre, has taken university education to the inmates of Olukota Correctional Service.
According to Tope Oyewole, the move is part of the centre to expand study opportunities to the inmates in Ondo State.
The Director of the Centre, Mr Abidemi Agunbiade, stated the eagerness and readiness of the inmates to embark on their studies with the University.
The Comptroller General of the correctional service, Mr Jude Agboye, disclosed that their are availability of resources and facilities that could be utilized during the studies.
He added that 25 inmates have already indicated interests to enroll in different programmes.
