President Bola Tinubu has appointed the new service chiefs, approving the retirement of the immediate past ones with immediate effect.
This is contained in a release from the Office of the Secretary to the government of the Federation, signed by Director, Information Willie Bassey, on behalf of the Secretary to the Federal Government of the Federation.
The newly appointed service chiefs are: National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Defence Staff; Major General C.G Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Major T.A Lagbaja; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral E.A Ogalla; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall H.B Abubarkar; Acting Inspector-General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Epa Undiandeye.
He has also approved the following appointments: Col. Adebisi Onasanya, Brigade of Guards Commander; Lt. Col Moshood Abiodun Yusuf 7 Guards Batallion, Asokoro, Abuja, Lt. Col Auwulu Baba Inuwa 177 Guards Battallion, Gwagwalada, Abuja.
Also, the President has approved the appointments of other Military Officers in the Presidential Villa.
He also approved the appointment of Hadiza Bala Usman as Special Adviser, Policy Coordination, Hannatu Musa Musawa as Special Adviser, Culture and Entertainment Economy, Senator Abdullahi Abubarkar Gumel, Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters (Senate), Honourable(Barr) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim, Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives).
The President also announced the appointment of Adeniyi Bashir Adewale as Ag.Comptroller General of Customs.
The appointed Service Chiefs, the Inspector General of Police and the Comptroller General of Customers are to act in their positions, pending their confirmation in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
