A moment of respite may have come for both the students and staff of Federal University of Oye Ekiti as the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fashina, has rolled out palliative measures that will alleviate their sufferings caused by fuel subsidy removal. According to Abiodun Olusoga Fanoro, Professor Fashina made this known at a joint meeting held with the labour union in the University as they engaged in dialogue.
Professor Fashina disclosed that a plan is underway to purchase and deploy a new 60-seater bus that will be conveying both students and staff to and fro the satellite towns and villages in which they are resident at a subsidised and affordable fare.
In the same vein, Professor Adesina said the Management of the University has approved two teaching-learning formats that will encompass both online and physical teachings to bring down logistical challenges in transportation and other related exigencies that students and staff will be facing regarding operating traditional ways of teaching and learning.
Meanwhile, he added that the University had procured a brand new ambulance for the institution’s medical centre to add up to and relieve the existing transportation fleet.
