The University of Lagos (UNILAG) is training its students beyond their chosen field of studies as it exposes them to business, Entrepreneurship, and innovation development.
The training is conducted through UNILAG’S Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Business Incubation Certification Programme (EIBIC) for the 2023/2024 academic session.
The training, which is ongoing and will last till Tuesday, April 23, is aimed at instilling entrepreneurial spirit in students as well as guiding them to become business owners, and employers before or after graduation.
The EIBIC programme, which is taking place in J.F Ade Ajayi Main Auditorium, and which is mandatory for all 100-level students, gives students the opportunity of being addressed by expert industry players across all sectors in Nigeria.
The Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, while speaking at the opening ceremony of the programme on Wednesday, April 17, expressed that students would be equipped with what will make them excel not only in their chosen area of endeavour, but also in Business and Entrepreneurship.
Professor Ogunsola hinted at the determination of the institution to raise a generation of viable business owners, gainful job creators, and employers of labour even before the completion of their Barchelors’ degree through the EIBIC Programme.
