University of Ilorin Expels Students
The University of Ilorin in Kwara State has taken disciplinary action against 19 students, including six final year students, for various offences.
The decision, approved by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole (SAN), follows the recommendations of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee.
The students were found guilty of misconduct, theft, examination malpractice, hostel bed-space racketeering, extortion, beating a fellow student, admission racketeering, extortion, a,⁰nd assault.
University of Abuja to Get Uniterrupted Power Supply
In no distant time, University of Abuja will be operating on uninterrupted power supply.
The institution’s 3 Megawatts of Solar power is underway and almost completed as disclosed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah.
Professor Na’Allah decried the recent power outage in the institution, blaming it on the activities of hooligans who cut the cables to the University’s dedicated line, and the enormous cost of diesel.
To nip the power outage in the University in the bud, the Energy Research Centre, according to Professor Na’Allah, is looking at ways to create additional energy source faculty-by-faculty, building -by-building.
