A standout achievement was recorded by Mr Owolabi Victor Oluwatobi, a student from the Department of Science Education at the University of Ilorin, during the recent 2023 FIDA Week. Oluwatobi secured the position of runner-up in the competition, showcasing remarkable prowess and earning a commendable cash prize of ₦15,000.Expressing his appreciation for Oluwatobi’s exceptional performance, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, welcomed him in his office on December 8, 2023. Prof. Egbewole praised Oluwatobi for not only demonstrating brilliance but also for bringing pride to the University through his accomplishments in the contest.In acknowledging Oluwatobi’s involvement in the competition, the Vice Chancellor affirmed the University’s commitment to supporting and fostering academic excellence. He emphasized that the success of the UNILORITE reflected dedication, talent, and the steadfast backing of the University of Ilorin community, serving as a source of immense pride for the institution.Accompanied by the Desk Officer of the Consortium of Universities in Kwara State (KU8), Dr Bilqis Owokunle-Lawal, Mr Oluwatobi was received by both the Vice Chancellor and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Suleiman Ambali.The 2023 FIDA Week, held from December 3 to 9, was organized by the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kwara State Branch.
