Four students, as well as three lecturers of University of Uyo (UNIUYO) have received recognition awards from the institution’s Graduate of 1999/2000 Department of Computer Science.
The award was held at Council Chamber of the University to promote healthy rivalry and competition in academic excellence.
The recipients of the award were selected from 200 level and 500 level, having recorded highest Cumulative Grade Point (CGPA), while the lecturers were selected based on polls.
The four students were Onwuggamba Samuel Ekene of 200 level with 4.33 GPA; Donatus Williams Enobong of 300 level with 4.39 CGPA; Eddy AbasiAda Nnabuk with 3.91 GPA; and Alexander Godwin Ereremena with 4.65 GPA.
The Spokesperson for Class of 1999/2000, Comrade Nkekere Udom, expressed that given to the institution, which made them admiring figures in the community, is very important, submitting that the class was ready to partner with University of Uyo in making students realize their dreams with a view to promoting the name of the University the world over.
Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nyandoh Ndaeyo disclosed that scholarship, as well as teachers’ reward was a veritable tool to education competition in academic environment.
