The University of Calabar has received high-tech virtual conferencing equipment as a donation from the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) in collaboration with Calgary Zoo Foundation(CZ) to aid learning.
According to Campus News of the institution, the virtual conferencing gadget and other equipment were donated to the Department of Environmental Education.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Florence Obi stated that the equipment would help in achieving virtual meetings, as the other equipment would help students in the Department of Environmental Education.
Also, the Head of the Cross River Office of Technical Programmes Department (NCF), Mr Emmanuel Owan, added that the virtual conferencing gadgets would enable the organization to easily communicate during online meetings.
Speaking further, Owan said as part of the project and agreement reached between NCF, its partners and the University, two students have already started the programme as agreed adding…”we will have some students who will benefit from our scholarship.”
Registering her delight when the equipment was being presented and installed in the Council Chamber, Professor Obi described NCF as one of the consistent and foremost environmental NGOs in the country.
The VC seized the opportunity to seek more support, especially for students engaged in exchange programmes in preservation and wildlife conservation.
