As a result of a robbery case which occurred at Rivers State University, Port Harcourt recently, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has said the state government will team up with the school authority to beef up the security apparatus in the University.
He disclosed this while he was at the University to assess the level of the robbery case, saying he decided to see things for himself.
The Governor expressed, “I said I won’t just send my aides and the police, I will come and see things for myself and assess the situation.”
Governor Fubara promised that his government would embark on necessary steps to prevent the repeat of the incident, adding that students who sustained injury during the attack would be taken care of.
Unknown gunmen had last week attacked the three female hostels close to the rear gate in the university, stealing laptops, mobile phones and other valuables.
