The Vice Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Nigeria, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo, has put the members of the Covenant University’s Enactus to task to ensure they emerge global champions in future competitions. Professor Adebayo expressed this opinion while receiving the Programme Officer of Enactus Nigeria, Toluwalase David-Oluwole and a member of Covenant Enactus who paid him a courtesy visit recently.
The Vice Chancellor urged students to see Enactus as a platform to leverage on to sharpen their leadership and creative skills.
He assured that the management of the university would not seize to support entrepreneurship and ingenuity spirits of Team Covenant towards moving beyond the solution of the Pet-City Project where they emerged the national champion twice.
He commended the efforts of Enactus Programme Officer as well as faculty advisers for rigorous training and retraining they facilitated in a bid to equipping the students with global best practices to make impact in community’s social development through entrepreneurship and leadership.
Professor Adebayo expressed, “We must work at putting the name of the University on the global stage both academically and creatively by thinking of new solution to global challenge that will make life meaningful to all.”
Enactus Programme Officer, David-Oluwole, who stood in for the Country Director, Mr Michael Ajayi, advised the team to do more by beating their records achieved in Pet-City Project and compete favourably both at the national and global levels to win the big prize.
Enactus World Cup, an annual global convening and impact competition, focuses on celebrating student impact and learning for SDG action. The 2023 World Cup will come up from Oct. 17 to 20 in Utreaht, Netherlands.
