When the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) commences on Friday, April 19, 2024, a total of 1,985,642 candidates will be sitting for the exam nationwide.
This was disclosed by the Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, Professor Ishaq Oloyede while speaking in Abuja recently.
He added that having successfully conducted Mock-UTME, the Board was now paying attention to the 2024 main UTME.
The Board, in its adequate preparation for the forthcoming UTME, had earlier trained 2400 proctors to enhance a hitch-free exam.
Meanwhile, Professor Oloyede noted that the successful conduct of the 2024 Mock-UTME indicated that the ongoing re-engineering process embarked upon by the exam body was yielding fruit.
Mock-UTME was held across the country on Thursday, March 7, 2024, while the Board released the result, notifying candidates to send MOCKRESULT to 55019 using their registered phone number (SIM) to access it.
It will be recalled that JAMB had assured the members of the public that it was set to unveil some landmark changes in the process of the examination given some discoveries arising from the conduct of 2023 UTME when it reviewed the exercise.
