Ajayi Crowther University and Bowie State University (BSU), USA, are set to collaborate on some academic activities that will enhance the progress of both institutions.
To facilitate the planned collaboration, the two universities are set to formalize an agreement through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on an exchange programme.
The partnering will begin with departments of Engineering, Accounting and Finance, and Computer Engineering students as notified by the representatives of the two institutions.
Meetings have been held through Zoom between the teams representing both institutions with the project facilitator, a lecturer at BSU, and a visiting lecturer at ACU, Dr Gabriel Esuola.
Both universities have also reached the consensus to set in motion the necessary paperwork for the signing of the MoU as ACU boasts of extensive infrastructure, 11 faculties offering 45 programmes, and the capacity to accommodate 4000 students on the campus.
Speaking, ACU Vice Chancellor, Professor Timothy Adebayo, assured the representative of Bowie University that ACU’s management was committed to maximum support to ensure the success of the exchange programme.
He promised that students of BSU would find an accommodating environment conducive to their academic pursuits at ACU.
Dr. Esuola likewise expressed that BSU was ready to move ahead with the agreement once the draft of the MoU was submitted to their International Education and Student Service Office, saying they would promptly initiate an academic discussion.
He anticipated that the exchange programme would commence this March while underscoring their eagerness to foster academic collaboration with ACU.
