The Management of Ekiti State University (Eksu) has put all the security agencies on red alert to curtail students parading themselves as students’ union leaders at the central, faculty and departmental levels of the institution.
This is contained in a statement signed by Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun, which also warned that the school security apparatus would curtail further violation of its rules and regulations.
The management noticed that some group of students’ union leaders at all levels have been holding meetings after the institution had banned students unionism.
The Senate had suspended union activities at all levels at its meeting held April 13, 2023.
The statement warned further that any student or group of students who continue to violate the Senate’s decision by still parading themselves as students’ leaders would be made to face the Students’ Disciplinary Committee in line with the extant rules and regulations.
In another development, the institution has informed its students through a statement signed by Olofinmuagun that necessary arrangement had been concluded to commence the First Semester Examination for the 2021/2022 academic session on May 3, 2023.
The 400 & 500 level students will start their exam on May 3, as 300 level sit for theirs on May 8, while 200 level students will sit for exams on May 15.
Students are to visit their portals to complete registration formalities. The statement added that only students with validated examination permits would be allowed into the examination hall.
The statement warned students not to bring cash into the examination hall for the purpose of making any payment.
Students who do not have examination on the dates indicated on the circular should stay away from the campus.
