After making a passionate appeal over WhatsApp groups, the management and staff of Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), have responded to Miracle Ayodele’s request for assistance to cover her medical expenses after sustaining a severe injury during a ghastly motto accident.
Ayodele, a 400-level undergraduate of Federal University, Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) was involved in an accident around Basiri area of Ado-Ekiti where one of her legs was seriuosly affected, and admitted to Ekiti State Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).
According to Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor on Media, Wole Balogun, who quoted the Senior Special Adviser to the VC, Professor Abayomi Fashina, Dr Adedayo Sobowale, the management came to be informed after reading Ayodele’s appeal over WhatsApp platforms where she was requesting for the fund from government, corporate bodies, good-spirited and well-meaning Nigerians to cover her medical bill.
Dr Sobowale explained that after reading the appeal, the University had to rally around, saying, “We are glad that our efforts have paid off and she is now out of danger following the payment of the bill.
Her mother has also confirmed that the surgery, which cost almost N300,000.00, was successful after her leg was amputated based on doctors’ advice to save Ayodele’s life.
