The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has bagged the Award of Most Active Tech Ecosystem in Ekiti State.
FUOYE received the award from the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Digital Economy during a two-day Innovative Summit to boost Ekiti State’s digital economy.

According to Omokungbe Omowunmi, the students who did the University proud during the occasion, comprised Mechatronics Engineering students namely, Ogundigba Hamzat, Mustapha Favour, Oye Oluwaseun, Alabadan Praise, Olayimika Promise and Ajiboye Toluwani.
The students presented a Laser Engraving Machine, an IOT-based Biometrics Attendance System and a smart irrigation system among others.
By unanimous decision of the judges who appraised and scrutinized various tech projects and activities, FUOYE ranked as the best University in Ekiti State.
During the occasion, Commissioner of Innovations, Seun Fakuade, and other innovators showed keen interest in scaling up the projects to deploy them in terms of applications.
Following this, the commissioner had scheduled a follow-up meeting with the FUOYE team who presented the project to ensure the project was scaled up into the next phase.
The occasion also witnessed various projects that commanded the respect of judges and investors, presented by graduates of the Mechatronics Engineering Department, FUOYE.
