The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has begun plans for its convocation ceremony slated for Wednesday, December 6 to 9, 2023.
This announcement was made by the University Ceremonials Committee, and signed by the Chair, Professor Charles Ukeje.
The Committee stated that the institution shall restrict vehicular movement in and out of the campus.
It expressed that only staff members with the University car sticker would be allowed unhindered.
However, staff members without the University car sticker would have to pay a stipulated amount of N500 cash to gain access to the campus during the period.
According to the Committee, members without staff stickers are advised to use the period before the dates to process their car stickers.
In a related development, the Ceremonials Committee has also invited members of staff interested in the procession for the convocation ceremony scheduled for December 7, 8 and 9 to indicate through short messages or e-mail to the appropriate authority.
Such interested members of staff should indicate their full names, department/faculty, phone numbers and the exact day to join the procession, said the Committee.
It stated that priority will be accorded to registrants from departments and faculties presenting graduands on each day as contained in the schedule of events, adding the deadline to signify intention is Thursday, November 30, 2023.
