NIPR means Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. NIPR is the chartered professional body charged with the responsibility of regulating public relations and education in Nigeria. An individual is expected to sit for NIPR certifying exams to become a member.
NIPR Exams. These are in three parts: parts 1, 11 and 11. Each part comprises five courses in all, while the exams are written twice in a year, in June/July, and Nov/Dec.
Period of Completion
The entire programme can be completed within a year if an accelerated training programme organized by Professional Exams Tutors is adopted. However, the institute allows for a maximum of three years within which to complete the programme.
Credibility
NIPR is credible, taking into consideration that organized public relations was established in 1963 with the Public Relations Association of Nigeria (PRAN) out of which emerged NIPR.
In 1990, NIPR became a chartered professional body since when it has been regulating the education of public relations in the country.

To become a student member you must possess any of these:
.BSc/BA/HND in any course
.OND
.Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with five credits including English

Benefits/Recognition
When the programme is completed, an individual is awarded a Professional Diploma in Public Relations from the Institute which is at par with BSc/HND certification.
The certificate can be used to run a master’s programme in some universities in Nigeria such as the University of Uyo, the University of Calabar, the University of Nigeria (UNN), the University of Ibadan, and Lagos State University (LASU).
NIPR is recognized in some foreign universities too. It can be used to pursue postgraduate programmes in some universities in London and Canada.
