Nile University Nigeria has recently announced a collaborative venture with the Nigerian Capital Market Institute (NCMI), the educational and training division of the Securities and Exchange Commission in Nigeria (SEC).
This partnership aims to establish a cutting-edge Capital Market Trading Laboratory on the University’s campus in Abuja. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), inked by the Principal Officers of both institutions, outlines plans for the lab to function as a central hub for progressive training programs, mentorship initiatives, internships, career development, and networking opportunities for Nile University students.
Following the signing of the MoU, Professor Dilli Dogo, the Vice-Chancellor of Nile University, attributed a substantial portion of the institution’s success to its robust industry collaborations. He noted that Nile University presently boasts over 60 partnerships with esteemed national and international organizations, significantly influencing the outcomes and experiences of its students.
Prof. Dogo affirmed the university’s commitment to actively pursuing career advancement opportunities for its students in alignment with the Education for Impact goals of the Honoris United Universities Network, the entity that owns Nile University.
During the briefing, Dr. Timi Agama, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Capital Market Institute, underscored the careful consideration behind choosing Nile University as the location for the Capital Market Trading Lab. He cited the university’s outstanding reputation as a driving factor behind this strategic decision.
Mr. Lateef Kareem, the Chief Financial Officer of Nile University of Nigeria, added that the collaboration seeks to equip students for successful financial careers by providing industry-grade practices and hands-on experiences, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
The state-of-the-art Capital Market Trading Laboratory will grant students access to advanced technology and resources, enabling them to simulate real-world trading scenarios and acquire practical skills in a controlled setting. The facility aims to create diverse opportunities for career advancement through mentorship programs, internships, and networking with potential employers.
