The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has restated the University’s dedication to fostering the advancement and prosperity of Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), Oko.
Prof. Egbewole, delivering this affirmation during TAU’s inaugural lecture, assured the leadership of TAU that the University of Ilorin is fully committed to actively supporting the swift progress of TAU toward achieving academic excellence.
Stressing the shared responsibility of educational institutions, he underscored the importance of collaboration among universities. Prof. Egbewole expressed joy in witnessing the advancement of all members within the KU8 Consortium, highlighting the significance of providing quality education and accessibility for the people of Kwara and Nigeria.
In praise of TAU’s initiation of the distinguished lecture series, Prof. Egbewole emphasized the crucial role of such public lectures in bridging the gap between academia and the broader community. He emphasized the symbiotic relationship between the university (gown) and the community (town), deeming it essential for the comprehensive development of education.
As the Chairman of Ku8, the Vice Chancellor affirmed that all Consortium members are devoted to ensuring that the insights from the lecture extend beyond TAU. Recognizing the efforts of Prof. Francisca Oladipo, the Vice Chancellor of TAU, Prof. Egbewole commended her determination and dedication to the growth of the rapidly expanding university.
