The School of Postgraduate Studies at Bingham University, Karu, recently celebrated the attainment of two new Doctorate of Philosophy degrees in Accounting. The external defence event welcomed Prof. Daniel Gbegi from the Federal University Gashua as the external examiner.
Commencing the proceedings, Prof. Okoli Bamidele, the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, expressed gratitude to Prof. Daniel Gbegi for moderating the candidates during the external defence. He underscored the importance of candidates taking full ownership of their PhD theses and maintaining a robust connection to their research. Prof. Bamidele offered words of encouragement, urging the candidates to stay composed and focused as they navigate this pivotal phase of their academic journey.
Mr. Enomate Blessing, the first candidate, defended his thesis titled “Effect of Intellectual Capital on Financial Performance of Listed Non-Financial Companies in Nigeria,” followed by Mr. Haruna Dzugwahi, the second candidate, who presented his thesis on “Integrating Reporting and Financial Performance of Listed International Companies in Nigeria.”
Following a meticulous evaluation of the theses, Prof. Daniel Gbegi, representing the Board, officially declared the candidates deserving of their PhD degrees. This recognition was granted to appreciate their exceptional work and noteworthy contributions to knowledge in their respective fields.
This achievement stands as a testament to Bingham University’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering excellence in research, exemplified by the successful completion of these Ph.D. degrees in Accounting.
