First Eye Concept, a Chicago-based firm in the United States of America, has agreed to collaborate with the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) to establish a solar plant on the University campus.
According to Wole Balogun, FUOYE’S Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor on Media, this was made possible as the Chief Executive Officer of First Eye Concept, Chicago, Chief Wole Duroladipo, son to the late theatre icon, Duro Ladipo, visited the University.
Duroladipo’s visitation was aimed at discussing how the dream to establish the solar plant might be achieved with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fashina.
During the visit, Duroladipo also met with FUOYE’s Director of International Linkages Professor Adefemi Adekunle, a professor of Mechatronics, who facilitated the project.
Professor Adekunle briefed the University’s media team that the output of FUOYE Mechatronics projects on international discourse had led First Eye Concept setting about partnering with the University on the establishment of the plant.
He added that when completed the project would be an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) mechanism that would add to the revenue of the institution.
Professor Adekunle stated that the solar plant would be made available for others to buy from the institution, as First Eye Concept would also bid to feature the project at a conference to be held in Chicago this year.
