Scopus, a compilation of globally renowned high impact research journals, has rated 36 Federal University Oye Ekiti (Fuoye) lecturers as most impactful scholars.
According to Special Assistant on Media to the Vice Chancellor, Wole Balogun, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fashina, has celebrated the outstanding scholars who are members of the academic staff of the institution.
The VC’s commendation was because the lecturers have featured prominently as most impactful scholars on the Scopus database and other globally research bodies respectively.
The feat followed the assessment of research efforts of the academic staff members as pre-requisite for annual promotion exercise of the year 2023.
Professor Fashina disclosed, “10 lecturers of the institution were listed as outstanding scholars with profound numbers of h-index, i10-index and citation by the 2023 AD Scientific Index ranking as at August 24, 2023, holding a commendable 20 articles or more in the Scopus database.”
Speaking to this, the Special Assistant to the VC on Digital Transformation and Technology, Associate Professor Olusola A Ayanda said, “The VC, on behalf of the University administration and the entire academic community, expressed his sincere gratitude to the University’s outstanding academic staff who have continued to demonstrate outstanding research and scholarship.”
Further, Dr Ayanda disclosed, “The VC urges all academic staff to ensure the correctness and completeness of their Scopus and Google Scholar profile page.
