The newly admitted Lagos State University Students (LASU) have been allowed to defer their incomplete Lagos Central Admissions Clearance Application (LACACA).
The development is a result of the difficulty experienced by the students in completing their LACACA clearance.
According to the Public Relations Officer of Lagos State University Students Union (LASUSU) Ibiade Benjamin, no student would forfeit his admission because of the challenge posed by LACACA.
He said the management of the University would allow them to defer their clearance to enable them time to complete their LACACA before the second semester examination.
Benjamin explained that in light of this, students are given the option to apply for deferment of the first semester through a formal letter written to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello.
The application will then pass through the Head of Department, indicating full name, student’s identity card number, department, and other relevant information regarding the clearance issue, outlining the situation and request for deferment of matriculation as a result of incomplete LACACA clearance.
Once the letter is submitted to the Head of Department for review and endorsement, it will then be forwarded to the Dean of the faculty.
The letter will be further reviewed, and endorsed by the Dean of the faculty before onward transmission to the Vice Chancellor’s office for consideration.
Students are to consult their Heads of Department or Dean’s office for guidance on the process.
LACACA is an online clearance procedure for candidates who have been granted admission for the 2023/2024 academic session.
It is an essential step for all admitted students, leading to the assignment of matriculation numbers and finalising admission status.
