Lagos State University (LASU) has announced that its 2023/2024 first semester academic session will commence on January 15, 2024.
The decision was reached at the Senate’s 305th Statutory Meeting held December 28, 2023 when it considered the proposal of the Committee of Provost, Deans and Directors (CCPDD), approving the academic calendar for 2023/2024.

According to the decision reached by the Senate, resumption, medicals and registration of freshers, as well as returning students are slated between January 15 and 26, 2024.
However, late registration attracts a penalty of N5000, while lectures for freshers and returning students commence on January 22, ending March 29, 2024.
The first semester examination will come up between April 1 and 19, 2024, as the institution goes on semester break from May 16 to 31, 2024.
The Senate also approved that the second semester commences with the resumption, registration and lectures for 100 to 500 level students between June 3 and August 9.
