Spiritan University has obtained the endorsement of the Nigerian University Commission (NUC) to launch its LL.B Law Undergraduate Programme.
This milestone was achieved as a result of the University’s commitment to providing ample resources, as confirmed by a resource verification visit conducted by a panel of experts from the NUC.
The official approval from the National Universities Commission, dated November 6, 2023, grants Spiritan University the authority to initiate the full-time mode of the LL.B Law Undergraduate Programme, effective from the upcoming 2023/2024 academic session.
Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Remy N. Onyewuenyi CSSp., PhD, the Vice Chancellor of Spiritan University, expressed gratitude for the approval in a statement. He highlighted the university’s dedication to meeting the necessary criteria and providing the essential resources for the successful implementation of the LL.B Law programme.
Spiritan University Nneochi (SUN), a prominent Catholic and faith-based private institution located in Umunneochi, Abia State, Nigeria, has consistently maintained high standards since its establishment in 2017. The university, founded by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans), Province of Nigeria South East, has a rich history of educational and evangelization work in Nigeria dating back to 1885.
Initially approved and licensed on December 6, 2017, by the Federal Executive Council of Nigeria based on the recommendation of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Spiritan University Nneochi began its academic journey during the 2018/2019 session. At that time, the university offered fifteen (15) departments/programmes across the Faculties of Natural & Applied Sciences, Arts, Management, and Social Sciences. Concurrently, the University introduced the Units of General and Entrepreneurial Studies to enhance the overall academic experience.
