The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has expressed its readiness to make e-copy of recommended text available for all its candidates free.
The JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this while meeting with Commissioners of Education across the country.
According to the Registrar, the copy of the Reading text would be issued through the Board’s website, candidate’s e-mail, profile and QR codes to be made available on the registration slip usually issued to candidates who complete their Registration.
” CBT centres have also been mandated to paste these QR codes at strategic locations within the premises so that candidates can access them ahead of registration,” expressed Professor Oloyede.
He reminded the participants that the Board had since stopped the use of compact discs for accessing its e-brochure and e-syllabuses as QR Codes, which are printed at the back of its approval reading text, are now available to access its IBASS platform for these materials.
He noted that the Board is aware of the high cost of running the CBT centres, especially the high cost of diesel, and has therefore approved minimal increments pertinent to CBT centres charges.
The Board has also disclosed its intention to stop the practice of paying bank charges for all its candidates, saying candidates would have to pay these bank charges on their own as of 2024 UTME Registration.
