The University of Ibadan and Japan are set to be involved in enduring bilateral relationships as was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Kayode Adebowale.
The bilateral relationships will facilitate students’ exchange and exchange of cultural and intellectual knowledge.
The discussion on the relationships was made known when Professor Adebowale received His Excellency, Matsunaga Kasuyoshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Federal Republic of Nigeria while on a courtesy visit to the University.
During the visit, the VC stated that an active Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) would be signed to promote the collaboration between UI and the Asian country.
Professor Adebowale expressed that the qualities of being a comprehensive university where courses in humanities, pure sciences, social sciences, and medicine, as well as a hub for Pan African University, make the institution eminently qualified to collaborate with Japan.
He added that the University of Ibadan is the premier University in Nigeria, which has the hope of becoming a postgraduate University in the future.
