The Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Professor Folasade Ogunsola has urged the academia to stimulate a multidisciplinary training that will raise well-rounded graduates. Professor Ogunsola advocated this while playing host to the Fullbright Alumni Association of Nigeria (FAAN) national executives who paid her a courtesy visits in preparation for its 18th Annual conference to be held in the University.
Professor Ogunsola was concerned that, though there is increase speed in knowledge development and displacement, a continued decline in concentration time among students is noted.
She advised Fullbright scholars to brainstorm on how the academia would join hands to review curriculum that would groom specific capacity for national development.
Speaking, FAAN President, Professor Adele Garkida of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, said the Conference would critically examine and appreciate the peculiar challenges being faced by tertiary education in the country to ensure that it measures up with what obtains in developed countries.
